Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University was established in June 12, 1964, formerly known Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University. It was renamed ANGRAU in 1996. It is one of the largest ‘State Agricultural Universities’ in India. The ANGRAU campus is located in Lam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. It has a total of 11 constituent colleges which includes five colleges in agriculture, two in agricultural engineering, two in food science & technology, one in home science, and one in advanced postgraduate centre). Admission at Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University is offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses. All the ANGRAU admissions are done based on entrance exams. Step 3: Evaluation
Candidates at this stage will be evaluated on the basis of their merit/ranks, presidential order, region and social status. Candidates must note that only State level rank will be considered. As per the ANGRAU admission notification 2023, in the case of tie-in ranks, the marks scored in optional subjects will be taken ito consideration. If the tie persists, age will be the ultimate basis of selection.
Step 4: Counselling
Shortlisted candidates then need to visit the verification centre to complete their certificate verification. Candidates can opt for online counselling as well.
Step 5: Document Verification and Payment of Fees
Once the certificate verification is done, candidates need to visit Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University and get their documents verified. They need to pay the ANGRAU admission fees at this point itself.
Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University PG courses are offered in its various constituent and affiliated colleges. The PG and doctoral programmes in agriculture under Advanced Post Graduate Centre, Lam, Guntur will be offered at different campuses whereas the PG and doctoral courses in home science under Advanced Post Graduate Centre, Lam, Guntur will be offered at College of Community Science, Lam, Guntur. ANGRAU PG admission is done on the basis of AIEEA (ICAR). At the doctoral level, ANGRAU admission is done on the basis of marks obtained in AICE (ICAR) along with other parameters.

Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University mess is run by the students on a no-profit no loss basis. There is a mess for every hostel and each mess is administered by the Food Safety Standards Authority of India Act.
All Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University students are covered under the ANGRAU Student Health Care Scheme. The ANGRAU campus has well-equipped health clinics, ambulances, and 24*7 medical assistance.
